GBS Neurodiversity Comic Con in the News!
Gillen Brewer’s Neurodiversity Comic Con event in November received some exciting press! Inspired by similar events hosted by schools outside of New York, GBS Neurodiversity Comic Con was designed to be sensory-friendly, with neurodiverse attendees in mind. Recognizing that traditional comic con events can be overstimulating, we wanted to create a space where everyone can fully immerse themselves in comics, books, and games in a welcoming, comfortable environment.
Here are a few of the articles that came out about the event:
NYC to Host First Ever Neurodiverse Comic-Con: Exclusive (New York Family)
A Comic Con in NYC This Weekend is Specially Designed For Neurodiverse Kids (NJ Family)
Neurodiversity Comic Con at Asphalt Green (Mommy Poppins)
Neurodiversity Comic Con (Kid On The Town)

The GBS Neurodiversity Comic Con also got media coverage in the world of podcasts! Head of School Rebecca Skinner appeared on the Be A Better Ally podcast with Tricia Freedman to discuss what our celebrations say about our school, and why inclusive events matter.
