Curriculum and classroom structure follows the HighScope curriculum, a research-based program focused on early childhood education that emphasizes active learning, collaboration, and problem solving skills. Children develop creativity, confidence, and independence as they engage in activities focused on their interests and explore materials in their environment.
In the HighScope Curriculum, children’s learning is organized into eight Content Areas that are aligned to the New York State Early Learning Standards.
Content Areas are integrated into daily activities rather than being taught in isolation. Embedding these goals into everyday experiences and interactions ensures that learning is both meaningful and integrated. This method provides children with an opportunity to make connections and apply their skills in a practical and meaningful manner.
The Preschool program’s weekly schedule incorporates music, art, and science classes. Students go to the rooftop play space daily and visit the community playgrounds.
